About Roxane

Roxane O. Adler Hickey, Ed.D., is a leadership strategist, facilitator, speaker, and educator who helps people and organizations lead with greater purpose, authenticity, and impact.

For more than two decades, Roxane has designed and led leadership development experiences that help individuals better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, build effective teams, and translate ideas into meaningful action.

Her work sits at the intersection of leadership development, strengths, team and organizational culture, strategy, change, and experiential learning. She is particularly interested in creating the conditions in which people can step away from the demands of their day-to-day work, reflect deeply, have meaningful conversations, and return to their organizations with greater clarity, connection, and capacity to lead.

Roxane currently serves as Assistant Provost for Leadership & Academic Engagement at William & Mary, where she provides strategic leadership for university-wide initiatives, develops leaders and teams, builds cross-functional partnerships, and creates leadership programs for students, faculty, staff, and professionals. Her career has included work across K-12 and higher education, from teaching and college counseling to executive leadership, organizational strategy, civic leadership, and leadership development.

She holds an Ed.D. from William & Mary, with doctoral research focused on experiential learning and the ways reflection, relationships, and cohort-based experiences contribute to meaningful growth. She is also a certified CliftonStrengths practitioner and has created and facilitated leadership experiences for emerging leaders through senior professionals.

Across all of her work, Roxane returns to a simple belief:

Leadership is not about becoming someone else. It is about understanding who you are, how you affect others, what you stand for, and how you can use your strengths in service of something larger than yourself.

She founded Community Leadership Studio to create more opportunities to do exactly that.
